How to Do Freelancing with Zero Skills and No Experience in 2019 and Beyond

I am sure you have heard the word “freelancing” or “freelancer” and you have been wondering what it really means.  In a simple word, a freelancer or freelancing is a term that is commonly used for a person who is self-employed and is not necessarily committed to a particular employer on a long-term.  Most people believe that to be a freelancer you must have some sort of skills to do this, but I’m here to prove to you that it is possible to become a freelancer with no special skills, experience or can I simply say with no skills whatsoever.  I will like to take a brief to explain better on how to do freelancing with no skills and with zero experience by taking a look at the following companies:

  • Amazon
  • Facebook
  • Airbnb
  • Alibaba and much more

None of the above companies has any direct product/services of their own unless of course Amazon that has only Kindle products, nevertheless, Amazon is the owner of Amazon marketplace where it sells millions even not billions of items every year that are not kindle related but other products like electronics, sports, fitness, baby, home, kitchen to mention just a few.  All these companies are making billions of dollars every year using other people’s items/products to generate income. For example, Alibaba does not own any products but what it has succeeded to do is getting suppliers/manufacturers to showcase their products on its website, who in turn make payment to the owner of Alibaba to use or continue to promote their products on Alibaba's website.  It is the same with Airbnb that let houses/accommodations to the public that require a place to stay for a brief period like 1 week to 1 month and more. Airbnb makes accommodation possible to people from properties that the company does not own or possess and all that Airbnb does is to look for individuals that have properties to let, negotiate prices with the individuals and once they enter into an agreement, Airbnb takes charge as the individuals provides a description of the accommodation with good quality images.  Airbnb will then hire/let the houses to people that require short stay accommodation and makes his own cut (money) in the process. As of today, Airbnb has become a household name and a go-to for short-term accommodation letting. We all know about Facebook that it is simply a social media platform that connects friends, families together to share photos, stories, celebrations, etc and in the process, Facebook is making tons of billions of dollars in income every year by simply connecting people together with no products to sell to the users.  I’m sure you understand what I’m trying to talk about here, it is the same with freelancing. If you are looking for how to do this without any skills, I will like to introduce you to some freelancing sites where you can do this and I will be starting with Fiverr and some of the services that you can render with no skills.

Now let us head over to Fiverr to take a look, the first service I will like you to a look at is Writing and Translation and under this category, you will see a lot of services that you can offer to the public from as little as $5 such as writing of articles, resumes/cover letters, translation, proofreading, email and more.  The easiest one that you can do here with little work is Email copy (see the attached image):

From this image, you can see many freelancers who are ready to write simple emails ranging from prices like £4.01 to £225 and they all have reviews.  This is something that anyone with no skill can do as it does not require any hard work to write a simple email, even if you don’t know how to write an email, there are ways you can do this and one of the ways is to go to an affiliate network like Clickbank, when you are on Clickbank, click on its marketplace and go to a specific category for instance the health and fitness category, click on the affiliates link page of any product of your choice where you will be able to see tons of email swipes that you can copy, edit and send to your buyer that ordered your gig on Fiverr and it is that simple.

Article Writing

The second way of freelancing is the writing of articles for buyers as a lot of blog and website owners come to Fiverr looking for cheap, quality articles for their sites as this help with SEO or simply filling up their websites with content.  This is one of the gigs that are always in high demand on Fiverr and if you know how to play around it very well, you will soon start to get many orders in a day like 10 - 15 orders. Note that you won’t have to write the articles yourself but you will need a service like what is called article rewriter software or spinning article software.  There are so many article software in the market and all you have to do is to research for the software on any of the search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo. To start getting orders quickly, take a look at the other article writers on Fiverr and the word count they are prepared to write for $5. Instead of saying you will write 300 words for $5, make your own 1,000 words for $5 and don’t worry you can always reduce the word count once you start to get orders and reviews to just 350 words for a $5 gig.  There is a very good article writer/spinning in the market which is wordA1, though there are other software like I said initially nothing compares better than wordA1.  WordA1 spins articles that you provide in a way that is readable which looks like it had been written by a human being and the best part is that these articles will pass copyspace and other plagiarism checkers to ensure Google will not detect your articles as duplicate content.  To make things easy for you simply use the keyword provided to you by your buyer on Google, copy an already written article, paste it into WordA1 to rewrite for you and this the article that you will deliver to your customer, it is as simple as that. You can also use an article directory like ezine articles to look for articles to rewrite and deliver to your buyers.  The cost of using wordA1 per month is $49.95 and I’m sure you can make like $300 or more by simply looking at how your competitors set up their profile on Fiverr, make a note of the most sellers with high orders/reviews to adjust your own profile too so that you can start to get orders as soon as possible in addition to increasing your own word count by more than half of that of your competition in order to take the major chunk of buyers to your side.

Keyword Research

A third freelancing job that you can do without any skill is keyword research as most buyers come to Fiverr to look for freelancers to provide them with keywords that they can use on either their websites, blogs or even use for their advertising.  Keyword research entails looking at long tail keyword or a group of keywords such as “how to make money selling online”. The buyer might be looking for a list of relevant keywords as well as how competitive they are, how many searches they receive a month and how easy is it to rank for.  A lot of sellers provide this service and most of them use software to find the keywords. Some of the sellers use Google keyword tool with another software called keywords everywhere or you may wish to use a paid version called long tail pro which cost $37/month.  Whichever way you plan to go all your buyers are looking for is to give them the list of keywords (both short and long tail), how easy it is to rank for with the number of searches received per month.  You don’t need to be an SEO expert to offer this service once you have a strong software to do the job for you as all you are doing is to generate the keywords or niche your buyers want you to research by entering it into the software and it will give you all the data you need that you will send to your buyer.
Graphics/Design
Another service that you can render as a freelancer is in the area of graphics and logo creation using free or paid software like Canva or the Graphics Creator.  If you are very good at using these softwares to create quality graphics like logos, book covers, business cards, flyers, post cards, social media images, 3d models and much more, you will make tons of money creating these graphics as buyers are always looking for people to design these graphics for them.  Logo design is extremely popular on Fiverr (take a look at the image below):
Logo creation gigs on Fiverr starts at £8.03 to design a logo and if you buy a quality logo software like Graphics Creator which is a one-off purchase price of around $37, you have access to this software forever and you can use it to make lots of money on Fiverr or other freelancing platforms.  To ensure you get orders and start to earn money, you can make your offer to be 3 logos for a price of $5 with 3 mock-ups which will be better than what your competitors are offering on the platform and you can always change this once you start to get orders with good reviews.

Videoscribe and Whiteboard Animation

While there are other services that do not need any special skills to do as a freelancer if you care to do your research properly, I will like to end it here by adding another one which is video scribe and whiteboard animation freelancing.  This is a popular gig on Fiverr and it is so easy to do since you are simply using video app or software to create video slides, animated videos or even promotion videos. The softwares are easy to use and you can get a video done in less than 5 minutes.  There are some of these apps/softwares that allow you to add your voice to the videos you create and one of such software is known as wave.video and it is free to sign up to use for as long as you wanted before you make a decision to go pro.  The only issue is that there is a watermark on the free version and the duration of the video created is short, so if you plan to use it for freelancing you will have to upgrade to the pro version and there is nothing to worry about as you will make your money back and much more as there are tons of people out there who are looking for these type of videos for either their blogs, websites, Youtube and much more.  Other popular video marker software is flixpress, kizoa and much more.
Kindly note there are other freelancing websites where you can render the services I have discussed above and these are upwork.com, freelancer.com, peopleperhour.com, guru.com and much more.
